ADMINISTRATIVE FEE FOR SALES MADE THROUGH ONLINE CHANNELS
Pursuant to Resolution 3596 of 2006, issued by the Special Administrative Unit of Civil Aviation, in cases where the sale of airline tickets is conducted entirely through electronic means, airlines and travel agencies are authorized to apply an administrative fee different from that provided for in said administrative act. This fee shall be itemized when the total cost of the reservation is displayed on the transaction platform.
In this regard, Article 2 of Resolution 4561 of 2006—which amends Article 4 of Resolution 3596 of 2006—provides as follows:
“Article 4. In the case of sales made entirely online, airlines and travel agencies may charge an administrative fee different from that specified in this Resolution.”
Airlines and travel agencies must notify the aviation authority of the administrative fee and other terms and conditions applicable to online sales of airline tickets.
Sales conducted entirely online are defined as those in which the entire sales process, including payment, takes place virtually.
Sole paragraph. This Resolution shall take effect with respect to sales made entirely online on January 15, 2007, the date from which travel agencies and airlines intending to make sales through this system must submit to the Aviation Authority the administrative fee and other applicable conditions.
