Women's empowerment: achievements, progress and commitments to equality

International Women's Day is an occasion to reflect on the progress made in the fight for gender equality, but also to reaffirm our commitment to equity and the empowerment of women in all areas of society. On On Vacation, this day holds a very special meaning. It is an opportunity to celebrate our achievements, renew our mission to continue closing gaps, and strengthen our commitment to creating a more inclusive, equitable future full of opportunities for everyone.

Women's empowerment is one of the cornerstones of our organizational culture. We know that a better future is not only built with everyone, but by everyone. This blog reflects how On Vacation has managed to make women’s inclusion and empowerment a key driver of its growth, a process in which gender equality plays a central role.

On Vacation: A Model of Female Leadership

One of the most notable achievements of On Vacation is that 54.42% of our company’s leadership positions are held by women. This percentage reflects our belief that women should not only be part of companies but also lead them. Through our vision and principles, we have demonstrated that gender equality is possible not only in words but also in concrete actions. On Vacation has been a pioneer in building an environment where women play a central role in decision-making.

A particularly relevant aspect is that 46.34% of our women hold leadership positions within the organization. This means that almost half of the key positions are held by women, which not only reflects our commitment to equity, but also the transformational capacity of female leadership. This representation in leadership positions is critical to ensuring that women continue to be drivers of change and innovation within the company.

Promoting Gender Equity

On On Vacation, we are constantly working toward gender equality. This includes closing the pay gap and implementing policies that ensure job descriptions are not based on gender. In our workplace, women have the same opportunities for growth and development as men. We foster an environment where talent, dedication, and skills are the only factors that determine a person’s advancement.

Our commitment to pay equity and equal opportunity is one of the cornerstones of our culture. This commitment aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), specifically SDG 5 (Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls). Within this goal, we highlight targets 5.1 (eliminate all forms of discrimination against women and girls), 5.5 (ensure women’s full and effective participation in decision-making), and 5.c (promote policies and legislation that support gender equality). On Vacation works every day to meet these goals, promoting inclusive policies that seek to eliminate any barriers to the development and advancement of women in our company.

Cultural Diversity: A Pillar of Innovation

Women's empowerment is not limited to gender equality alone; it is also deeply connected to cultural diversity. In On Vacation, we understand that diversity is a driver of innovation and creativity. That is why we have a team of women from different cultural communities. 10.40% of our women are from the Raizal community, 9.83% are from the Wayúu community, 3.56% of the women in the company are from the Kocaima community, and 3.42% are from the Tikuna communities. This cultural diversity is not only a reflection of our commitment to inclusion but also an added value that allows us to have a broader and more enriched perspective in everything we do.

Each of these women, in addition to contributing their professional talents, also enriches the organization with their unique cultural identity, which strengthens our value proposition and enables us to respond more effectively to our customers' needs. Women from diverse communities are not only occupying key positions, but are demonstrating, through their work, that diversity is a source of strength and growth.

Social Commitment: Inclusion for All

Women's Empowerment on On Vacation also extends to the inclusion of all people, regardless of age, race, gender, or disability. We believe in the value of each individual’s work and development, regardless of their background or differences. At On Vacation, we promote an inclusive culture where every person is respected and valued, and where women have access to the same opportunities as men to grow and thrive.

A great example of this commitment can be found in our Silver Weaver sewing room in San Andres. San Andresa project in which we are actively involved. In this initiative, a team of women over the age of 60 leads the production, demonstrating that empowerment knows no age. These women, who have overcome age-related barriers, are a testament to the transformative power of work and the dignity that each person can bring, regardless of their stage of life.

These types of initiatives are also aligned with SDG 10.2, which promotes the reduction of inequalities. We are committed to ensuring that all women, regardless of their age, status or place of origin, have the opportunity to contribute and develop. These initiatives not only change the lives of the people involved, but are also part of our effort to generate a positive impact in the communities in which we operate.

The Work Is Not Over: We Continue to Close the Gaps

Although we are proud of the progress we have made, we know that there are still many challenges to overcome. The wage gap, gender-based violence, and structural inequalities remain obstacles that we must continue to combat. However, the progress we have made in On Vacation are clear proof that change is possible and that, by working together, we can close these gaps and move toward a future of true equality.

International Women's Day 2025 serves as a reminder of what we have achieved so far, but it is also an opportunity to reflect on what remains to be done. We are committed to continuing the fight for equal opportunities, pay equity, and the eradication of gender-based violence. These issues cannot be resolved overnight, but on On Vacation , we know that with determination and consistent effort, we can move toward a fairer and more equitable environment for everyone.

The Impact of Female Empowerment

Empowering women not only changes their lives, but also has a direct impact on communities and societies. On On Vacation, we know that when women have the same opportunities as men, not only do they thrive, but society as a whole benefits. Empowered women are more likely to create a positive environment, innovate, and contribute significantly to the economy and well-being of their communities.

Every empowered woman is a potential leader who can transform not only her own life, but the lives of many others. This creates a positive, self-reinforcing cycle that generates a profound and sustainable impact. Women on On Vacation are an example of how inclusion and gender equality can contribute to a better future for everyone.

Conclusion: Moving Forward Together Toward an Equal Future

At On Vacation, we proudly celebrate what we’ve achieved, but we know that the fight for gender equality doesn’t end here. We remain committed to empowering women and creating a work environment where everyone has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their gender or identity.

Today, as we do every day, we renew our commitment to women’s empowerment, equal opportunities, and building an inclusive and sustainable future. On On Vacation, we know that the future belongs to everyone, and that is why we will continue to move forward to create a more equitable and just world for all.
